Patriotism is Not Enough

Scripture: Jeremiah 28:5-15

The prophet Hananiah loves his country and so he tells the people what they want to hear. This is not true patriotism for he speaks lies. Jeremiah tells the people what they do not want to hear, but it is the truth. A true patriot loves the truth of God first. We must love what God loves and stay true to those values. A true patriot loves their country in order to make it lovely, a place where God's truth and values are cherished.
