The Poverty of Jesus

Jesus embraces poverty in the pouring out of himself in suffering for the salvation of others. Kenosis is nearly an untranslatable word that communicates the self-emptying, self-giving nature of Jesus. Jesus enters into Jerusalem to offer his life for others.
